Opportunity for souvenir merchandise suppliers

The eThekwini Municipality have established a Durban Souvenir Shop. The aim of the shop is to sell merchandise and souvenirs to visitors and locals.

THE eThekwini Municipality is encouraging Durban-based businesses interested in supplying the Durban Souvenir Shop to submit their merchandise samples.

The Business Support, Tourism, Markets and Agri-Business Unit of the eThekwini Municipality have established a Durban Souvenir Shop.

The shop is an outlet for the expression of Durban’s creativity and diversity, and it serves as a place to display the treasures of Durban and a space to give exposure to the city’s diverse talents. The aim is to sell merchandise and souvenirs to visitors and locals.

The store is located at the North Beach Tourism Office.

The eThekwini Municipality released a statement detailing the requirements for merchandise samples: “Merchandise must represent Durban as a tourist destination. Designers are to submit merchandise, including but not limited to casual wear, swimwear, accessories and footwear for ladies, men and kiddies. The samples must be submitted by no later than 15:00 on February 24 at the municipality’s Business Support Office, 7th Floor, Embassy Building, Anton Lembede Street.”

This initiative forms part of efforts to provide access to markets for local small, medium and micro enterprises.
