Two killed in another Berea shooting

At around noon this afternoon, Emer-G-Med paramedics, together with ALS paramedic services, responded to the scene in Carters Avenue in the Berea.

THIS afternoon, two men were shot to death in a shooting incident on Carters Avenue in Berea.

According to Emer-G-Med Paramedics spokesperson Kyle van Reenen, at around noon on Tuesday, Emer-G-Med paramedics, together with ALS paramedic services, responded to the scene in Carters Avenue in the Berea.

“On arrival on scene, two men were found with multiple gunshot wounds. The first was declared dead on arrival of paramedics while the other was found in a critical condition. Advanced life-support resuscitation efforts were attempted, however, the man succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead on the scene,” said Van Reenen.

The Emer-G-Med Paramedics spokesperson said the facts surrounding the incident and the events preceding it are unclear and will form the subject of a South African Police Services investigation.

This adds to a spate of shootings in the Berea area. Most notably, South African rapper, Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes was shot and killed on Florida Road in Morningside on February 10.
