THE Denis Hurley Centre in Durban is looking to hire a building manager. The Denis Hurley Centre is a non-governmental organisation committed to helping Durban’s poor and marginalised communities. They are a multi-faith organisation that welcomes staff and volunteers who share their values. They run a primary healthcare clinic and provide food and counselling for the homeless, provide support for refugees and offer job-related skills training.

According to the NGO, they are looking for someone with at least five years of professional experience in running a building or facility. This person should have financial-administration-related experience in managing room bookings and payments, experience in co-ordinating and motivating a team of people, be competent in English, both written and spoken, be willing to commit to Denis Hurley Centre’s ethos and values and possess an ability to work with people from marginalised communities.

The person would be expected to work 40 hours per week, usually on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 07:30 to 16:00 with a 30-minute lunch break, and with Tuesday off, then on Saturdays and Sundays from 08:30 to 12:30. But the person should also be willing to adapt to hour changes depending on the activities.

The salary will be commensurate with experience and there may be the possibility to earn commission on rental sales. No additional benefits are offered. To start as soon as possible.
