THE festive season is over but there are still some fun activities to do in the next few weeks. Below is your directory of upcoming events.

‘Date Night’ will leave you in stitches
To kick off the new year, Rhumbelow Durban presents comedic couple Aaron McIlroy and Lisa Bobbert’s latest comedy cabaret. ‘Date Night’ will be running for three nights starting from January 31. The show will start at 19:30.
This sidesplitting show is a must-see for couples and friends looking for a fun and entertaining night out over the festive season. ‘Date Night’ promises an evening of laughter, love, and lunacy as Aaron and Lisa take to the stage with their unique blend of crazy characters and hilarious songs. With their trademark chemistry and irreverent humour, the duo tackles the ups and downs of relationships, marriage, and middle age while leaving audiences in stitches.
Book your tickets now for a night of unadulterated fun and laughter! Tickets cost R200 per person. On Saturday, February 1, the show starts at 19:30 and on Sunday, February 2, the show will start at 14:00. The theatre is open 90 minutes before the show. Take picnic baskets or buy at the venue. Theatre school open night

The International School of Performing Arts (ISPA) is having its first Open Night showcase on Wednesday, January 22 at 18:00. The showcase is suitable for young adults interested in pursuing a career in the performing Arts. ISPA is a tertiary musical theatre academy dedicated to training talented school leavers in all aspects of performing arts, including dancing, singing, and on-stage and screen acting.

Visit the Kloof and Highway SPCA!
The Kloof and Highway SPCA has the perfect venue to keep your little ones busy with loads of activities on weekends! Their tea garden boasts a beautiful outdoor eating area under the trees, lined with jungle gyms and a jumping castle. Any child will be happy to snack and play for hours. They have something for the whole family, two- and four-legged!
Their Village Green Thrift Shops’ book shop and toy shop are always a highlight. Vistors can also browse through Ella Bella Clothing Shop, Garden Nursery, the newly renovated Fine Feathers clothing store, and more.
There are also hiking trails that are pet-friendly and easy for all ages. Dogs welcome on lead! Please visit the kennels and drop off a tin of dog or cat food.

Walk the walk
Dust off those walking shoes and get ready for the World Cancer Day 5km Run/Walk which takes place in Durban North in February. To commemorate World Cancer Day, which takes place annually on February 4, CANSA Durban and Pick n Pay Hyper By The Sea in Durban North have teamed up to host the event and are inviting locals to support the initiative on Saturday, February 1. A  talk starts at 8:15 followed by the walk at 8:30. Supporters will walk from Pick n Pay into the residential areas, along Kenneth Kaunda Road and back to Pick n Pay. After the walk, there will be a food stall and boba tea stall for participants to refresh themselves.
