Sundowner rooftop market & Easter events at the Pavilion
To entertain visitors over the series of long weekends, the Pavilion Shopping Centre is hosting various events and activations, including children’s participative crafts and games activities, a “Surprise & Delight” promotion and a night market.
The Easter-themed activation for children will take place from April 18-21 on the cinema level near Mugg & Bean from 11:00 to 18:00 daily. The activation will feature an interactive Easter Bunny Garden Experience where children can enjoy a variety of activities, including cookie decorating, creating bunny masks, and playing garden-themed games, which will offer plenty of photo-worthy moments. In the “Surprise & Delight” promotion roaming promoters will randomly spot shoppers throughout the centre who will stand a chance to win their share of R25 000 in Pavilion shopping vouchers. The night market is back by popular demand on Saturday, April 26 at Undercover Parking Lot B (near Entrance 5 and 6) from 15:00 until 22:00.
The one-day afternoon and evening market supports micro-businesses and pop-up entrepreneurs, offering a range of shopping, delicious food, kiddies entertainment and live music for visitors. The market has confirmed 50-plus stalls including Easter gifting ideas, bespoke items, garments, jewellery, handmade crafts, décor items, vintage wares and toys.
Food options include light meals, street food, snacks, market fare, speciality dishes and desserts. Visitors can enjoy live music throughout the afternoon and evening.
Motoring festival roars back to Dezzi Raceway
From heart-pounding circuit racing to adrenaline-pumping stunt shows and drift rides, the Supertech Torque Motoring Festival promises non-stop action and fun for families, car enthusiasts and petrol heads in KZN.
The Supertech Torque Motoring Festival 2025 is revving up for its third instalment of smoky-sideways driving at Dezzi Raceway in Port Shepstone on April 19 and 20.
This year’s event features heart-pounding circuit racing, family-festival fun and kids’ entertainment, adrenaline-pumping stunt exhibitions and a thrilling spinning extravaganza with international and local stars. There will be exhilarating drift rides and hot laps, and for those who seek something unique, strap in and take to the skies with helicopter flips for an added rush.

Join the friends of music
Friends of Music Society presents Virtuoso Music for Violin & Piano on Sunday, April 27 at 14:30 at the Durban Jewish Club in North Beach. Evgeny Zhadanov (violin) and Andrew Warburton (piano) will serenade the audience with large-scale duo sonatas and suites by Fauré – Franck – Stravinsky.

It’s Shrek time
Fun, love and adventure in the swamp: Shrek the Musical will be staged by KZN’s Young Performers Project (YPP) at Milkwood Theatre, Danville School, Durban North from April 25 to May 4.

Shrek is the delightful, charming and hugely funny West End musical adaptation of the smash hit film. It will have a cast of 35 performers comprising senior primary and high school learners, as well as post-matric learners studying at the International School of Performing Arts. It will be the first production for 2025 to be staged by the YPP.
“Over the festive season, we staged the fun and fabulous Elf the Musical at the Durban ICC. We are delighted to open the year with Shrek – it is such a feel-good story loved by young and old,” said YPP’s Des Govender.

Internet wizards unite
The South African Network Operators Group (ZANOG) will host a multi-day, ‘Networking’ conference with three international guest speakers at the uMhlanga Coastlands Hotel on April 23 and 24.
There will be over 20 presentations, a panel discussion over both days with a variety of local masterminds, and informative addresses by American internet expert Jim Cowie, Dutch specialist Pim van Pelt, as well as contributions by Sara Alamin from Sudan.

Pianocast One Man Concert
With the success of the debut edition in 2024, Pianocast One Man Concert is back. The return promises a “bigger and better” celebration, honouring the life of Stankydeejay and his continuous contribution to the music industry and AmaPiano alongside the greatest artists in the game. The show will take place at the Durban Exhibition Centre on April 19 from 14:00.

The legendary Joyous Celebration is coming with a special performance this Easter weekend.
The Joyous Easter Mega Fest takes place on April 19 at the Durban ICC. The show will take a trip down memory lane with alumni favourites dating back 19 years. There will be an additional show, Joyous Celebration 28, on April 20.
