Articulate Africa 2026 launched in Cato Manor
Articulate Africa Arts and Book Fair 2026 launches in Durban, celebrating literature, art, and local creative talent.
PUBLISHED authors, aspiring authors, publishers, visual artists, gastronomes, and City officials gathered at Umkhumbane Museum in Cato Manor recently for the launch of Articulate Africa Arts and Book Fair 2026.
Articulate Africa is the eThekwini Municipality’s flagship literary and art fair, which aims to empower the creative industry in the city, leveraging on Durban being the only city in the country in the UNESCO Cities Network.
“Articulate Africa creates spaces that nurture voices, allowing stories from different walks of life to emerge. It births opportunities of voices to rise, and it creates possibilities,” shared author Sharon Gaishrie.
The main programme takes place at the Durban Exhibition Centre, May 18-20 at the Durban Exhibition Centre, alongside activations at Midway Crossing on May 4, followed by Umnini Thusong Centre on May 5. Thereafter, an event takes place at the Clermont Library on May 13 and at Ohlange Secondary School on May 14.
The City encourages the public to attend the event in their areas. Entrance to all venues is free.
