Anthony Stonier back in court Thursday for sentencing
The Durban Magistrate’s Court is expected to sentence Anthony Stonier on Thursday following his guilty plea in a child pornography case.
THE sentencing of well-known pantomime actor Anthony Stonier has been postponed to Thursday, May 28, at the Durban Magistrate’s Court where he has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography.
Stonier, who remains out on bail, made a brief appearance in court this morning (May 25) where a clinical report and one from Correctional Services was handed over to the court. The matter was then adjourned to Thursday, when sentencing is expected to be delivered.
On May 12, Stonier had entered a guilty plea admitting to the possession of the illicit images. He was arrested in April 2024 during a joint operation between SAPS and the United States Department of Homeland Security following a search of his Umbilo home.

At the time, SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said Stonier was among 13 suspects arrested during a multi-province crackdown targeting child exploitation offences.
“The 58-year-old man was found in possession of hundreds of images and videos of children involved in sexual acts. Included were also images and chats where information relating to boys who are available for sexual favours at a price of R2500 and a willing buyer having a choice to drug them,” said Mathe.
Sentencing is expected to be delivered on Thursday.
