Four lucky readers can win double tickets to the opening Music at the Lake concert at Durban Botanic Gardens, featuring Mi Casa and lordkez.

FATHER’S Day on Sunday, June 21, will coincide with the return of the popular Old Mutual Music at the Lake concert series at the Durban Botanic Gardens, offering the perfect opportunity to treat the father figure in your life to an afternoon of live entertainment.

South African music heavyweights Mi Casa and rising star lordkez will headline the opening concert of the 2026 season, with organisers promising an unforgettable afternoon of music, family connection and outdoor celebration at one of Durban’s most iconic venues.

Gates open at 14:00, with Mi Casa set to deliver a soulful and energetic performance featuring fan favourites such as Jika, Mamela, Who Cares and La Vida.

Joining them on stage will be lordkez, whose genre-blending sound and captivating stage presence have earned her a growing following. Fans can look forward to performances of hits including Aweh, Trap Phone (Give Me A Ring) and LoveCity.

Molise Moloi, Old Mutual Retail Mass Market Marketing Executive, said the concert series has become about much more than live music.

“These concerts have become an opportunity for families and friends to come together in a serene outdoor setting and create lasting memories. Launching the 2026 season on Father’s Day makes it even more special, as we celebrate the people who bring guidance, love and support into our lives.

“We’re honoured to help create experiences that inspire joy while also supporting the important work being done at the Durban Botanic Gardens,” said Moloi.

Concertgoers are encouraged to bring picnic baskets, camping chairs and cooler boxes as they settle in for an afternoon under the winter sun. Tickets range from R20 to R295 and are available from Pick n Pay stores nationwide or through Webtickets.
