NOTICE OF A WATER USE LICENCE APPLICATION FOR THE PROPOSED USE OF ONE BOREHOLE WITHIN THE PROPERTY OF HILLCREST RETIREMENT COUNTRY ESTATE, LOCATED ON LOT 98, ASSAGAY, ETHEKWINI METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY, KWAZULU-NATAL PROVINCE NOTICE ISSUED IN TERMS OF THE NATIONAL WATER ACT 36 OF 1998 (NWA); AND THE WATER USE LICENCE APPLICATION AND APPEALS REGULATIONS, 2017 HILLCREST COUNTRY RETIREMENT COUNTRY ESTATE IS APPLYING FOR AUTHORISATION TO UTILISE ONE BOREHOLE LOCATED WITHIN THE ESTATE. THE ESTATE IS LOCATED WITHIN THE JURISDICTION ETHEKWINI METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY OPPOSITE BUSAMED HILLCREST PRIVATE HOSPITAL. APPLICATIONS FOR A WATER USE LICENCE ARE REQUIRED BEFORE THE WATER USE ACTIVITY MAY COMMENCE IN THE VILLAGE. HILLCREST COUNTRY RETIREMENT COUNTRY ESTATE ALSO INTENDS TO SUBMIT A WATER USE LICENCE APPLICATION (WULA) TO THE DEPARTMENT OF WATER AND SANITATION (DWS) FOR WATER USES AS SPECIFIED IN SECTION 21 OF THE NWA. This water use is: `Section 21 (a) Taking water from a water resource (groundwater). I&APs will be notified of further details of the WULA once an application has been submitted to DWS. Hillcrest Country Retirement Country Estate has appointed Geocon Consulting (Pty) Ltd an independent geohydrological consulting firm, to undertake the Water Use Licence Application process. INVITATION TO REGISTER AS AN I&AP AND TO COMMENT I&APs are invited to register as stakeholders and comment on the Wetland Assessment Report & Hydrological Assessment Report which is available for public review and comment for a period of 30 days from the publication of this advert.
