Karate festival a success

Young karatekas enjoyed a karate festival in celebration of their art.

THE Kokusai Karate Do Renmei KKDR karate school hosted its annual karate festival on Saturday, 27 July at the Bartle Road Hall where young and old karatekas from the neighbouring branches of the school united to celebrate the art of karate and martial arts.

The festival is a way of getting karatekas ready for their upcoming competitions. “We give them a chance to build on their skills with training and self discipline for the festival and also give the parents and supporters a good show of martial art demos and create a vibe with lights, music and smoke to bring an emotional ambiance of martial arts,” said head of KKDR, Sensei Mauro Pereira.
