GLENWOOD Sports Roundup 2 September

A round up of Gloenwood sports

THE Glenwood 1st soccer team played Pietermaritzburg College on Saturday 31 August. The game started off at a good pace with Glenwood dominating proceedings and creating numerous chances to score but hitting the ball either wide or over the top.

A great move was brilliantly finished by young Marvin van Zuydam who volleyed a Sabelo cross into the corner of the net.

The game ebbed and flowed and College made most of the attacking and was awarded two separate penalties through their continuous pressure, one they missed and one they scored. Half time score was 1-1.

The second half was very even with both teams creating chances and defending strongly. The final score 1-1
