Cricket fest ends on positive note
DHS U14 cricket did well at the recent cricket festival at Kearsney College.
Durban High School U14A cricket team recently took part in the annual Charl van Rooyen cricket festival held at Kearsney College, which saw a number of schools come together to compete over four days.
On day one and two, DHS took on KES and Affies respectively, unfortunately losing to both teams. Day three was rained out. On the fourth and final day, DHS played Jeppe. The format of the game changed from having two 20/20 matches to one 30 over match. DHS won the toss and decided to bowl. An excellent bowling performance was seen from Njabulo Luthuli with figures of 4/8 in 2.4 overs which helped restrict Jeppe to 118. An excellent display of batting from Tinashe Nenhunzi and Aviyile Madiba steered DHS to an 8 wicket victory ending the tour on a positive note.
