Cricket matches washed out

Rain-soaked wickets saw a number of Quins matches abandoned at the weekend.

ALL lower league cricket matches were cancelled by Durban and District Cricket union at noon last Friday because of the weather. As a result, Umbilo Harlequins second team and U11 side were not engaged in their respective scheduled cricket activities on Sunday.

The first team had a KwaZulu-Natal Challenge league stream one match against Simplex Reservoir Hills cricket club on Sunday morning was also abandoned because the wicket was saturated. Quins will be allocated just two points for the draw.

On Saturday 26 October, the sixth side take on Clares 4 at Asheville, in a 30 over division 5 match.

On Sunday 27 October the under eleven team play Delta U11s two at Highbury Road Three, at 8.30am.

The first team take on Railways from Tongaat in a 50 over Challenge league, stream match starting at 9 am, at Harlequins one.

The second eleven play Pinetown 2 in a 40 over challenge reserve game starting at 1pm at Lahee Park.

The third team take on INK 1 at S.L. Singh 2, in a 35 over division one encounter, commencing at 1.30pm.

The fourth side play Delta 4, in a 30 over division 2 match up at Harlequins 2, commencing at 1.30pm and finally the fifth team challenge FAM 1 in a division 3 game at Isipingo oval, commencing at 1.30pm.

Coaching sessions for U11s will continue as usual at Harlequins cricket field nets at 5 pm on Thursdays. Contact Shane 0834027964.
