Model yachts set sail in Durban
Head down to the Model Yacht Pond at the Blue Lagoon to watch the Radio Controlled Laser SA Championships.
THE Radio Controlled Laser SA National Championships will be sailed from the Durban Radio Boat Club (DRBC) at the Model Yacht Pond at the Blue Lagoon on Saturday and Sunday, 9 and 10 November. This is always a well attended and very competitive regatta with sailors from Gauteng, Cape Town Knysna and Durban competing and a fleet of at least 25 boats is expected this year.
This regatta was last sailed 3 years ago as the Pond was unavailable for sailing during this period.
Current holder of the national championshipDes Fairbank and previous holder Rudi McNeill are expected to take part and an exciting weekend of sailing is anticipated.
Friends of the DRBC as well as the public are invited to go down to the Model Yacht Pond to enjoy the spectacle.
