Swimmers rally to raise funds for bodybuilder

Three long distance swims will be held to raise funds for the recovery of World Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation's Marco Pietrowski.

#BeBrave in Association with the Durban Long distance swimming Association (DLDSA) and Breathe Ocean Conservation will host a 3km 3City Swim Challenge on 21 November in support of local KZN World Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (WBFF) Marco Pietrowski, in order to raise funds for his recovery.

Swimmers will be racing 3km in the two oceans and one pool in all three cities at the same time with one winner for all three cities. There will be live tracking of the race for each city.

KZN’s race will commence from Moyo Pier, the Cape Town event will commence from Robben Island and the Johannesburg event will be in Wits Pool.

This will the first of a series of open water swimming from the local association DLDSA.

“We challenge all individuals to rise to the occasion and join us, even if you’re not a swimmer. There will be an beach clean-up project for the whole family and volunteers as well as free snorkelling lessons for the children for the duration. Let us support Marco Pietrowski in his recovery as he fights his way back to being SA Champ again,” said Angelique Manias.
