Glenwood sailors take on regatta
Glenwood High sailors came second in their division at a recent regatta.
MSC Week 2016 took place from 4 to 8 July and included the KZN Regional Championships for the L26 class.
Container World Challenge sailed in this class, skippered by Glenwood High School matric boy, Brendan Humphreys. Also on the crew were Christoff Schutte, Harlow Healey, Jason McIntosh and Keyuren Maharaj. Unfortunately McIntosh had to withdraw on the day before the regatta due to illness. He was replaced by a New Forest High School boy, Teagan Herron.
On the second day of the regatta, Healey had to withdraw due to a perforated eardrum. At short notice another New Forest High School boy, Bryce Bower stepped in.
The crew sailed consistently and eventually finished the regatta in second position in their division earning them SAS KZN Region Silver medals.
