Women’s race attracts stellar field

The Totalsports Women’s Race has attracted a stellar line-up of female athletes including the likes of Jenna Challenor and Jenet Dlamini, who will be racing in Durban.

THE Totalsports Women’s Race takes place across three cities on Friday, 9 August, twith a stellar line-up of female athletes including the likes of Jenna Challenor and Jenet Dlamini, who will be racing in Durban.

No stranger to the Totalsports Women’s Race, Jenna Challenor secured gold at the Durban event in 2013. “My 12 year old daughter won her first 5km race last year making the Totalsports Women’s Race really special to me. It is an honour to run for those who are fighting for their lives. I have lost a few friends to cancer so it is close to my heart. The atmosphere on race day is electric. It really is a fun morning out amongst so many beautiful women,” she said.

The 2019 Totalsports Women’s Race boasts a whopping combined Prize Purse of R123 600, a total of R41 200 per city (Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town).

The race will be run from Kings Park Athletics Track in Durban, with the 10km starting at 8am and the 5km at 8.15am.

Each entrant will receive a fitted Event T-shirt, a Totalsports head scarf and a finisher’s bracelet while being treated to an entertaining route experience with refreshment points.

The Totalsports Women’s Race proudly supports PinkDrive, a Non-Profit Company (NPC) that is committed to improving breast cancer awareness, education, and providing and offering free services to the medically uninsured across South Africa. PinkDrive will be present at the Totalsports Women’s Race offering free clinical breast examinations and educating on the importance of self- breast examinations.

Moonchild will perform at the close of the Totalsports Women’s Race in Durban.
