Retirement village welcomes new manager

The new manager is a Witfield resident and passionate about helping the elderly.

Liza Oosthuizen was recently appointed as the manager of the Ridgeview Retirement Village in Bartlett, and she is ready for the challenge.

The 51-year-old is taking over the reins from Julie Koster, who retired on June 1.

Oosthuizen, a former financial accountant and personal trainer, started being passionate about senior citizens and got involved with the elderly in about 2013 by training at their SAVF homes.

The Witfield resident expressed her excitement about her new position, adding she has been welcomed with open arms.

“I love being the manager of this retirement village. It is a big pride to help the elderly and walk a path with them. I want people to come here and live their lives to the fullest,” said Oosthuizen, who was born and bred in the East Rand.
