Lotus Karate Club shines with medals and grading success
The club collected 11 medals in the Goshukan Invitational Championships, while eleven members graded up two weeks earlier.
Lotus Karate Club instructor sensei Raveen Dayaram has praised his karateka after they delivered an impressive performance at the Goshukan Invitational Championships on June 27 at the Poveiros Portuguese Club in Dayanglen.
The club entered six competitors at the championships and returned with four medals – one gold, one silver and two bronze.

Zaniqua Joyce led the charge with a gold in kumite and silver in kata, while Precious Tshazi grabbed a bronze in kata.
Dayaram, who himself received a bronze in kumite, shared his pride.
“I am extremely proud of them. They were brave enough to step onto the mat and give their best. They performed exceptionally well,” said Dayaram.

“It was another excellent competition and, as always, Lotus Karate Club karateka competed valiantly, bringing home four medals.”
This success followed a successful grading of 11 members on June 13 in Alberton.
Krishthi Singh and Medha Singh both graded to second red belt, while Nkalle Bumuh advanced to green belt and Zaniqua Joyce earned her senior purple belt.
Sanidhi Singh graded to second kyu brown belt, Reuben Georgeson to green belt and Destiny Trenchman to orange belt.
Duran Pillay, Vidl Singh, Milan Singh and Stephen Rathilall all successfully graded to junior yellow belt.
“Thank you to all my students for the hard work and dedication they put into this grading. It required a tremendous amount of effort from every karateka, and they rose to the challenge. I am delighted that every student who attended the grading passed and progressed to their next belt,” said Dayaram.
