Members of the community and devotees of the South Indian Hindu tradition are invited to attend Gauteng’s largest annual Aadi Muthumariamman fire walking festival on August 2.

Hosted by the Shri Anantha Muthumariamman Temple in New Modder, the spiritual celebration draws thousands of devotees, families and visitors from across the province in a display of faith and devotion.

Under the divine eye of the largest Shri Anantha Muthumariamman statue in the Southern Hemisphere, a landmark of hope, compassion, healing, and protection, celebrations will commence at 07:00, culminating in the fire-walking ceremony, during which countless devotees will seek blessings from the Divine Mother and Goddess of Healing.

The festival will also feature sacred rituals, vibrant cultural traditions, devotional music, and colourful processions.

Members of the community are invited to take part in the celebrations to experience the cultural heritage of the Hindu community.

The event will take place at 1 Unity Avenue.
