Partners unite to create a memorable day for local children
The FedEx Play Parks programme, delivered in partnership with Kids Collab, the Lions rugby team, the SPAR Group and the Tshisusu Foundation, brought joy to hundreds of children at the Harambe Centre in Reiger Park from 09:00 to 12:00 today.
The vent featured a variety of fun activities, games and treats, giving children an opportunity to celebrate Mandela Day through play, laughter and community connection.

Epiroc empowers local NGO with skills training facility
Mining company Epiroc marked Mandela Day by donating a container office to a Plantation-based NGO, Urban Ruins, to support its job skills training programme.
The new facility will provide the organisation with a dedicated space to conduct skills development and employment readiness training, creating opportunities for community members to gain valuable skills and improve their prospects of finding work.

Powerhouse Models lends a helping hand
Powerhouse Models commemorated Mandela Day by hosting a community outreach programme at the Community of Hope Multipurpose Centre, formerly known as the Community Crisis Centre, in Reiger Park.
The initiative, held from 11:00 to 13:00, featured a soup kitchen and clothing drive, providing warm meals and essential clothing to residents in need while encouraging the community to embrace the spirit of giving.
