According to Supt Wilfred Kgasago, spokesperson for the EMPD, a good description of the suspects and how they were dressed, as well as the fact that they were still lingering in the area, made the Metro Police’s work of apprehending them easier.
“The two suspects were spotted in Extension Nine and rounded up; they were found in possession of a toy gun and a knife,” he says.
Kgasago adds that, in order to confirm that they were the correct suspects, the pair was taken to the supermarket owners who positively identified them as the individuals who robbed them earlier that day.
“During the arrest, a couple of complainants approached the Metro Police officers and identified the suspects as being responsible for robbing them at knife-point, as well as for threatening them with a firearm on July 4.”
The suspects, aged 19 and 24, were taken to the Dawn Park Police Station and charged with business robbery and pointing of a firearm.
They are expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrates Court soon. – @CarmenBoksburg
