Get a trade qualification through distance learning with INTEC

Not having a Matric qualification shouldn’t hold you back from obtaining a qualification in skilled trade work.

According to Manpower South Africa’s tenth annual Talent Shortage Survey, South Africa has become harder to fill positions, with the demand for engineers and skilled trade workers at its highest.

Lyndy van den Barselaar, managing director of Manpower SA, said that the country’s continued skills deficit is being compounded by a lack of technical skills, which has a negative impact on employment across various sectors of the economy.

Such findings clearly indicate that South Africa’s job market desperately requires qualified and skilled trade workers to fill its positions, and acquiring such scarce skills will open numerous doors for career options and availability.

A Matric qualification puts students a step closer to finding beneficial employment or skills training, but a number of students are not always able to complete their secondary education. This could be due to poor performance during their final exams, financial constraints or personal reasons. This leaves them in the difficult position of not always being able to find suitable employment, or skills training.

Not obtaining a Matric certificate does not however mean that the option to further one’s education and gain a qualification is impossible. Private colleges such as INTEC College can provide you with the opportunity to achieve your desired qualification without a Matric certificate.

INTEC College is one of the leading distance learning colleges in South Africa, and has over 100 technical programmes to choose from. This is with the advantage of attaining your qualification via distance study.
