Crime in brief: Woman raped at the lake, goods stolen in Sunward Park

The following crimes were reported at Boksburg SAPS:

  • House robbery

Two men forced their way into a house on Du Raan Road, Sunward Park, and stole goods worth about R10 000, on May 11. According to the police report, the suspects entered the house in broad daylight and held the domestic worker at knifepoint while ransacking the house.

Stolen goods included jewellery, a TV set, cellphone and other belongings. Police are investigating a house robbery case.

  • Rape

A woman told the police that a man robbed her of her cellphone and raped her at the Boksburg Lake, on May 15.

According to the Boksburg police, the woman was walking along the street near Boksburg SPCA when the rapist confronted her and introduced himself as Milky. They then proceeded walking towards the Boksburg Lake. When they reached the lake, the man grabbed the woman’s phone and asked the woman to perform a sex act on him. The woman, however, reportedly refused and the man raped her.

  • Theft of motor vehicle

A Van Dyk Park man was on May 13 left stranded after thieves stole his silver Toyota Etios Cross in broad daylight at the Sunward Lifestyle Centre parking lot in Sunward Park.
