Ackermans store robbed in Witfield

The suspects fled with stolen cellphones

The Ackermans store at Witfield Square in Main Street was robbed yesterday (July 10) at 11.10am.

Boksburg North SAPS communications officer, Capt Juanita Coetzer, confirmed that a victim was hit over the head with a firearm and sustained injuries.

“The complainant alleged that he was on duty when his two colleagues entered the shop, followed by two unknown males.” said Coetzer.

“One suspect was armed with a firearm, and the complainant was ordered not to move.”

The suspects ordered the complainant to place cellphones in a bag and the suspects fled the scene.

This is not the first business robbery in Witfield Square this year. The Pep store was robbed on May 2.

Investigations are underway.
