Music to East Rand Mall’s food court ears

The Rocco de Villiers performance in East Rand Mall’s food court is free and shoppers are invited to book their table at surrounding restaurants or to enjoy their takeaways with their family on the provided seating.

On August 16, The East Rand Mall will add high and low notes to our shoppers’ shopping experience by launching its much-anticipated Music in the Food Court evening by hosting Rocco de Villiers at 7 pm.

Petra Foord, general manager of East Rand Mall, said they have also roped in the Yamaha Disklavier, which is a piano of unlimited potential, famous for its see and be heard technology that allows the instrument to ‘play itself.’

“As the Yamaha Disklavier offers maximum functionality with minimum fuss it fits perfectly with East Rand Mall’s main objective to create a platform where our shoppers can perform their music to the enjoyment of the public, and at the same time, generate additional income for themselves by busking,” said  Foord,

Forming part of the mall’s efforts to give back to the community, this event also forms part of their CSI initiatives.

Members of the public are requested to register their musical talent on the mall’s Facebook page, and in return, the mall will confirm allocated time slots when upcoming pianists and music enthusiasts will be allowed to play at the mall’s food court.

Performing times may vary but will fall within the trading hours of East Rand Mall, a playing session will typically be for 2-hours.

For some fun, 1.5m marquee letters spelling piano will be placed around East Rand Mall allowing customers to take selfies or just some family time amusement.
