Oosthuizen removed from Golden Gloves’ upcoming ‘All or Nothing’ event

The pugilist was recently arrested at the Boksburg court where he was meant to appear on child maintenance charges.

Bail has been denied in the case of assault with intention to cause grievous bodily harm against former IBO champion Thomas ‘Tommy Gun’ Oosthuizen.

He appeared in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court earlier on February 28.

The Boksburg Magistrate’s Court found that the state brought forward a strong enough case against the pugilist to deny him bail.

The matter has been postponed to April 1, a day before Oosthuizen’s birthday.

It’s been confirmed to the Advertiser by Golden Gloves’ tournament coordinator Jeff Ellis that the lanky southpaw puncher has been removed from Golden Gloves’ upcoming ‘All or Nothing’ event scheduled for Emperoros Palace on March 21.

Oosthuizen was expected to make his long-awaited return to the boxing ring.

* Meanwhile, Oosthuizen’s stable mate Tristan Truter will be looking to salvage some pride in the junior middleweight ‘4 at War’ knockout competition when reaching its business end at All or Nothing.

Truter (8-2-0) will face Roarke Knapp (9-1-1) in the third and fourth place bout which will precede the night’s main event: the 4 at War final between Brandon Thysse (12-2-1) and Boyd Allen (5-0-1) in a 12-round Pan African junior middleweight showdown.
