Security guard arrested for sexually assaulting woman at business in North Rand Road

Ramaube said the woman allegedly tried to fight back but she was overpowered

A 40-year-old man who works as a security guard at a vehicle repair shop in North Rand Road was recently arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 24-year-old woman.
According to Boksburg North police spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube, the woman told the police that she went with her aunt to the repair shop to charge her cellphone.

The woman, who lives close by, told the police that she knew the security guard through her aunt. “The woman left the phone and went back home. The incident happened when she returned alone to fetch the phone. Apparently the guard fondled her breasts.

“When she wanted to leave, the guard allegedly overpowered her and continued sexually assaulting her,” Ramaube said.
“She opened a case of sexual assault at the Boksburg North SAPS. The guard was arrested on April 17.”
The suspect appeared in the Boksburg Magistrates Court on April 20. His case was postponed for further investigation.
