Grisly discovery: Mother, two children found dead

The Boksburg North police have opened an inquest docket after a mother and her two children were found dead in their home in Witfield on May 25.

According to Boksburg North police spokesperson, Const Justice Ramaube, the husband told the police that he left his 28-year-old wife and her two children, aged six and three, alive when he left for work around 2.30pm.

When the husband returned from work around 9pm he found the door locked and he used his key to enter the premises.

“The husband saw his wife sleeping on the floor in their main bedroom while the two children were sleeping on the bed. The husband further told the police that when he tried to wake them up they didn’t move.

He then asked for help from neighbours who called the ambulance. Paramedics arrived and certified the three of them dead on the scene.

The police are still investigating the circumstances that led to the death of the trio.

The motive and cause of the death is not yet known,” Ramaube said.
