Man arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a child

The man reportedly admitted to have rested his hand over the victims shoulder while they were talking because they knew each other

A 43-year-old man was arrested for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old child at her home in Boksburg North.

The incident happened around 7.30pm on September 27.

The sister of the victim told the police that she allegedly found the 43-year-old man sitting on the couch with her disabled sister while touching and brushing her breasts.

According to Boksburg North police spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube, when the 33-year-old sister asked the man what he was doing, he apparently got up and left without saying a word.

The sister opened a case of sexual assault at the Boksburg North police station and the suspect was arrested that very same night.

“The man told the police that he was drunk and apparently he did not touch the girl’s breasts. He further admitted to have rested his hand over the victims shoulder while they were talking because they knew each other. He added that he was in love with the mother of the child and while sitting with the victim on the couch he was asking her about the whereabouts of her mother,” Ramaube said.

The 43-year-old appeared in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on September 29.
