EMPD officers nab another suspected drug dealer in Reiger Park

Two other suspected drug dealers were taken off the streets of Reiger Park after they were found with narcotics on the morning of October 8.

A man was busted for possession of various types of drugs, and possible dealing in illicit drugs, on October 11.

According to EMPD spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng, officers from the EMPD’s Drug Enforcement Unit held an anti-drugs operation in the Reiger Park area on Saturday.

On Ihashe Street, Ramapahosa Extension Five, members found the man in possession of 26 half-Mandrax tablets, 31 ziplocks of crystal meth, one ziplock of khat, and a plastic bag containing loose dagga all valued at R8 600. The suspect’s R205 believed to be proceeds of crime was also seized.

The man was taken to the Reiger Park Police Station, where he was charged with possession of drugs and dealing in drugs.

The drug bust came just a few days after members of the unit swooped on a couple suspected of dealing in drugs in the township.
The man and the woman were handcuffed after officers found them in possession of 15 ziplocks of crystal meth valued at R4 500. Both the drugs and the pair’s R1 633 cash, believed to be proceeds of crime, were seized.
