St John launches innovative first-aid e-learning

St John launched a world-first, international first-aid e-learning course in support of Restart A Heart Day

The Order of St John in South Africa is transforming the first-aid training sector by introducing a world-first, international gold standard first-aid e-learning course in support of Restart A Heart Day.

For over 130 years St John South Africa has been dedicated to teaching the highest levels of first-aid and lifesaving skills.

The 18-hour first-aid blended learning course combines the theoretical component of first aid level one with a classroom-based practical hosted at St John training centres across South Africa or at clients’ premises for groups of eight or more.

In South Africa, the health-care industry requires practitioners to keep up with their training and certifications and continuous professional development points.

The best way to help patients and casualties recover from injuries is by studying as much as possible about the causes, signs and symptoms.

Ruth Kolevsohn, training director for St John SA, said because classroom-based training takes away from helping patients and casualties, St John recognised that e-learning is vitally important to the transformation of the health-care sector.

“Practical knowledge of first aid can save lives. Whether it’s an HWSETA, Department of Employment and Labour accredited first-aid course as required by employers to comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993) or if an individual wants to be prepared for emergencies at home or play, St John’s innovative first-aid e-learning training course will provide learners with hands-on knowledge that will make a difference in an emergency,” said Kolevsohn.

The e-learning covers the minimum standards and theoretical requirements for the Department of Employment and Labour document C accreditation.

On completion of the theory, the learner will have the opportunity to book an appointment at one of the St John training centres for the practical assessment.

St John is offering the first-aid e-learning course at a special launch price of R650 (including VAT) for the theory and practical. This is a limited offer that is valid until December 31. Click here https://buy.stjohn.org.za/ to start the first-aid e-learning now.

The St John closest to Ekurhuleni is situated at 220 Jan Smuts Ave, Dunkeld.
