Grass-cutting backlog blamed on lockdown

EXCERPT: The City of Ekurhuleni is, however, now addressing the grass-cutting backlog at cemeteries

The metro said it has prioritised cutting of grass at cemeteries and cleaning thereof following a backlog caused by lockdown restrictions.
The city is also pruning trees and ensuring safety at cemeteries.
Emmanuel Maphorogo, divisional head for parks and cemeteries in the City, is pleading for patience from residence as the City is working hard to tackle the backlog.
“We are aware of the concerns raised by members of the community. We are working on it, and we plead for patience,” said Maphorogo in a statement.
