One of Boksburg's business centres along North Rand Road.
Do you support businesses in Boksburg and why do you think it’s important to buy local?
Khumbulani Ndlela, taxi driver: I support local businesses because we’re all fighting poverty. A lot of us have families to support and other things to take care of and some people rely on the small amounts they receive on a daily basis. You never know what a person is going through and the reasons behind whatever they are selling.
Eric Marima, security guard: I support local businesses and the reason I support businesses in Boksburg is I live here and I grew up here. My needs are easily attended to here because I know where to go when I need something. I live by local businesses.
Johannes Ngalo, businessman: I prefer supporting local businesses because I’m a businessman myself and my wish is to see all of us successful. That’s why I want to see other businesses flourish.
Brandon Winter, car dealership employee: I support businesses in Boksburg to build the community and keep the money within the community, to grow and make the community stronger and obviously better our living standards within the area.
Matthews Shibambu, security guard: It’s important to support local businesses because it helps the community; hence, I support them. It’s also important because it goes a long way to curbing poverty.
