From Warrior Race winners to newly weds

Couple strike big

Sunward Park love birds Nathan and Daniella Visser tied the knot in Muldersdrift last Friday at the same venue they were crowned champions of the Boho Wedding Warrior Race.

Courtesy of their win in the race, which took place in September last year, the couple received a free wedding venue for their wedding.

Speaking ahead of their wedding (the Advertiser went to print on the day of the wedding), Daniella enthused: “We are very excited, the wedding has been something we’ve been planning for a year. It’s been a stressful and sad year and at one stage we thought it would not happen this year because of the lockdown but fortunately things opened up and we still could get married. We feel very blessed.”

The race, which saw 12 couples vie for the winning prize, had obstacles, including but not limited to, crawling through a small tunnel with mud, swimming and partners pushing each other in a wheelbarrow, to list a few.

Asked how the idea of entering the race came about, Daniella said: “It was very spontaneous. We got engaged in August 2019 and we saw a post about it on their social media platforms. We decided to take our chance and we made it.”

Nathan and Daniella have been a couple for eight years.
