The ANC has come out victorious in the Ward 42 municipal by-elections on December 9.
The ANC’s candidate, Musa Sylvia Nkosi, won the by-elections with a total of 3 405 votes.
According to IEC spokesperson Kate Bapela, the ANC retained the seat it won in the 2016 municipal elections, with 40.58 per cent of the votes cast compared to 2016’s 44.03 per cent municipal elections results.
The DA enjoyed 1 271 votes followed by the EFF with 620 and the African Independent Congress bagging 100 votes.
Ward 42 consists of Ramaphosa, Buhle Park, Cruywagen Park, Klipportjie, Elspark and Tedstoneville.
