A Boksburg lucky shopper, Ina Pretorius, drove away with a brand-new Suzuki S-Presso worthy almost R150 000.
The 69-year-old Pretorius, of Comet, who is a regular customer at the store, said she spent about R1 500 on groceries and entered her till slip as she usually does in other competitions.
This time, she was announced as the winner of the win-a-car competition hosted by Pick and Pay Towers in association with Suzuki.
“I’ve entered a number of competitions before, but it’s the first time I’ve won something big in my entire life.
“I couldn’t believe when they called me to break the news. I said to the caller, you are a liar, stop lying.
“Oh, this is my new baby and at home I have a knobkerrie I will use to protect it against thugs,” said the beaming winner.
The new owner of the store, Antoni Rangousis, handed over the car keys to Pretorius. He appreciated the support they get from their customers, and revealed that they have a number of planned upcoming promotional activities for customers at the Pick and Pay branch. “This is just one of many exciting activities planned for our loyal customers, just to say thank you for your support.
Pretorius’s entry was picked out of 17 000 entries
