The Forgotten East Rand in need of donations

The organisation is in need of items such as non-perishable food, clothing and toiletries

The Forgotten East Rand is urgently in need of the community’s support to help underprivileged people in the community.
Members of Kuselo Child and Youth Care Services and Legendary Guardian Exclusive Protection established the NPC at the end of March with the aim of feeding and supporting underprivileged residents during lockdown.
They have since fed thousands of people in areas like Boksburg North, Reiger Park and Villa Liza. Furthermore, they donated food to the furry friends at PawsRehoming and other pets in need.

According to the co-founder of the initiative, Amanda Coetzee, they are still collecting items such as non-perishable food, clothing and toiletries.

“We would appreciate it if businesses or community members could support us by donating necessities to us. No contribution is too small. Many people are now in need of assistance due to the negative impact the pandemic had on our economy. The more donations we receive, the more people we can help.”
She said the NPC is handing out parcels with food and necessities to 150 needy people in the community once a week.
Furthermore, she expressed her gratitude to those who supported the NPC last year.
“I would like to thank our sponsors, volunteers and people who assisted us in any way. It is much appreciated,” she said.
Anybody who wishes to support the The Forgotten East Rand may contact Amanda on 072 512 7227 or Clinton on 076 541 1159.
