Hall lights complaint addressed
The metro said it would adjust the angle of the lights put up to secure the hall at night
A resident of Impala Park recently complained to the Advertiser about excessively bright lighting around the Impala Park Community Hall at night.
The resident questioned whether it was necessary and said the brightness was affecting their sleep as “you can see the light from kilometres away”.
The Ekurhuleni metro responded by saying they had received complaints about the safety of the facility at night as there had been several attempted burglaries and a vehicle was stolen in the parking area.
“The security lights were installed and they work on a day-night basis,” explained metro spokesperson Zweli Dlamini.
“Having the lights on assists with security. To address the complaint of the lights being too bright, we moved the angle of the lights to minimise reflection.”
