Classic Beechcraft flying for rhinos on Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day was a day to remember for the Insimbi Legacy Projects, a non-profit organisation focusing on rhino conservation.

Springbok Classic Air, in partnership with Insimbi Legacy Projects, hosted two Valentine’s Day scenic flights on the classic Beech 18 aircraft, with breakfast at Dakota Lodge afterwards.

Upon arrival, each passenger was presented with an air ticket, Lindt chocolates and personalised champagne flutes. Female passengers also received a rose.

“Not only was it a great experience for the guests to fly in this aircraft, but they also supported a good cause since all the proceeds of this event went to the Insimbi Legacy Projects,” Carmela Lattanzi, founder of the NPO, said in a statement.

She explained the 20-minute flights took the guests around Johannesburg and back to Rand Airport.

All Covid-19 regulations were adhered to.

Lattanzi highlighted the organisation is planning a few more ‘Flying For Rhino’ outings soon.

Lattanzi started the Insimbi Legacy Projects to involve the public in the fight against poaching after one of her widely admired rhinos, Insimbi, was killed in 2014.
