Heavy rain causes chaos in Boksburg

Wednesday afternoon’s heavy rainfall flooded roads, causing chaos in Boksburg and in neighbouring towns.
Many roads, in low-lying areas in particular, were flooded and impassable following the heavy downpour.
The railway bridge on Trichardts and Hospital roads were not spared.
Motorists took to social media and shared photos and videos of the affected areas, including bridges and areas prone to flooding around Boksburg.
City of Ekurhuleni DEMS spokesperson William Ntladi has warned motorists and residents to avoid roads and bridges prone to flooding in rainy weather conditions.
