Mrs Johannesburg opens heart to animal shelter

Coetzer was crowned Mrs Johannesburg 2021 last year December and is determined to use this platform to help those in need

Mrs Johannesburg 2021 Lesley Rae-Coetzer recently donated goods to the value of about R30 000 to the furry friends at Delmas Animal Shelter.

The beauty queen from Jansen Park sponsored 200 bales of grass for horses and donkeys, 200 handmade beds for dogs and cats at the organisation. She also donated dog, cat and pig food.

Coetzer explained that the assistance of individuals and companies made the donation possible.

“Corrie Kruger, Antoinette Malan and Alecia van den Berg worked day and night for a week to help me make beds for cats and dogs. African Pride donated 200 bales and KWD Feeds donated pig food. Proline Manufacturers, Solly’s Material, Princess Nails, Leading Lady SA and Tac K9 sponsored cat and dog food,” the recently crowned Mrs Johannesburg said.

Coetzer explained that she decided to assist after there was a flood at the animal shelter due to heavy rainfall.

One of the directors of the Delmas Animal Shelter, Jorinda Verwey, thanked Mrs Johannesburg and everybody involved for the kind gesture.

“They are angels. We truly need donations and their contribution is going to help us a lot,” she said.
