Truck driver seriously injured after losing control of his vehicle in Witfield

The driver sustained serious injuries and was stabilised by an emergency care practitioner

A truck driver had to be airlifted following a collision on Rowe Street, Witfield, in the early hours of March 6.

According to Netcare 911 spokesperson, Shawn Herbst, reports indicated that the driver of a truck lost control resulting in the vehicle leaving the road to come to a standstill down an embankment.

“The driver of the truck, who was also the only patient on scene, sustained serious injuries and was treated by an emergency care practitioners.”

Herbst said the patient was airlifted to a hospital by a Netcare 911 helicopter for further care after being stabilised.
