Miss Youth National SA puts a smile on Villa Liza Secondary learners’ faces
The teen hopes to work on another project where she will collect sanitary pads and toys for disadvantage people.
Miss Youth National SA Melissa Moyani from Dawn Park recently donated food packs to learners of Villa Liza Secondary School.
The former matric learner at Sunward Park High School was crowned Miss Youth National SA on December 12, and as part of her duties she was required to give back to the community.
“The challenges I encountered when I was working on the food packs project was that I didn’t have sponsorship, so I had to embark on door-to-door visits and ask my neighbours to donate non-perishable food,” said Melissa.
The teen said she also received support from Farmer John, who helped by donating money that was used to buy more items to add to the food packs.
“I would like to thank the community of Dawn Park for donating, without their support I wouldn’t have pulled through with this project,” she said.
The 17-year-old said she hopes to work on another project where she will collect sanitary pads and toys for disadvantage people.
