Murder
Police are investigating the murder of a Jerusalem informal settlement resident whose body was found lying in a pool of blood with two gunshot wounds on March 27. The man, identified as Sicelo Sibiya (27), was shot in the head and stomach.
Robbery
Pedestrians are warned that there is a gang of armed robbers targeting people walking along Trichardts Road between Boksburg North and the Boksburg CBD. In the latest attack, a man was accosted by three men and robbed of his belongings as he was walking down the road just before 6pm on March 26. The trio, described as coloured males, threatened the victim with a firearm and took his cellphone and a jacket, as well as a bank card.
• In the industrial area in Comet, a gang of about six armed men forced their way into one of the companies on Newgold Street and handcuffed the security guard before stealing truck batteries on March 26. They also stole the guard’s cellphone and company’s two-way radio.
• Just a stone’s throw from Newgold Street, a gang of about seven criminals targeted one of the businesses in Angelo Industrial Park and stole truck batteries on March 29, after a brief scuffle with security personnel. A gang of truck battery thieves also targeted the same property the previous week.
Theft
In Plantation, a man woke up on March 29 to find that his motorcycle and a bicycle had been stolen from the garage while he was asleep.
