Locals urged to give back to the community on Freedom Day

Tuesday marks the 27th anniversary of the historic first democratic elections held on April 27, 1994, and a local social club urges residents to support its initiative to give back to the community.
In commemoration of Freedom Day, the Ramaphosa based Triple P social club has organised a clean-up campaign along Fish Eagle Street, which is engulfed in trash in Ramaphosa, Reiger Park.
To enhance and make the Freedom Day initiative a great success, the event organisers appeal for support from local businesses or individuals. Sponsorship can be a donation of gloves, refuse bags and transportation of the trash to the nearby dumpsite.
According to the chairperson of the club, Ernest Rashilo, the group of 17 men decided to observe the milestone by also donating sanitary towels and hygiene products to underprivileged girls in the township.
Local businesses are also encouraged to donate girls’ sanitary towels and hygiene products.

The clean-up will kick off in the morning, wrapping up with a lunch for volunteers in the afternoon.
