Winter Knights are back to fight the cold for the destitute

Local tablers are hoping to collect about R100 000 worth of winter essentials during the next six to eight weeks.

As the temperatures begin to plummet, the Winter Knights of Round Table Boksburg 17 are gearing up to once again bring the joy of warmth to thousands of underprivileged people this winter.

Jean-Claude Duarte, spokesperson of the local Table, explained that Winter Knights is a home-grown and hands-on Round Table SA project that encompasses a campaign in aid of the less fortunate during winter by collecting blankets, clothing and non-perishable food. Local tablers are hoping to collect about R100 000 worth of winter essentials during the next six to eight weeks.

Donations can be dropped off at various drop-off points such as Educational Investment Group (32 Lancaster Road), Casa do Campo (239 Rondebult Road), Cheers Pub and Grill Boksburg (280 Trichardts Road) and Suga Cube (El Ridge Corner).

The organisation is planning to spread the campaign beyond the borders of Round Table by inviting local sport, social and community organisations to help them collect the warm items.

Duarte expressed his gratitude to those who already contributed towards the project.
