Operation yields good results for Boksburg North SAPS

The operation is aimed at reducing the levels of crime in the Boksburg North SAPS’s policing precinct.

At least 21 people were arrested during the Boksburg North SAPS Operation Okae Molao on May 20.
Among those arrested during the operation were nine undocumented people.

According to Boksburg North spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube, nine people were arrested for possession of drugs while three people were arrested for possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

“During the roadblock on the corner of Atlas and Elizabeth roads and the corner of Rondebult and Rietfontein roads, 145 tickets were issued, four vehicles were discontinued, one vehicle was impounded and a dangerous weapon (butcher knife) was also confiscated.
“One person was also arrested for possession of suspected stolen property (cable).”
He said six taverns were shut down around the Boksburg North SAPS precinct due to not having valid licences.
