New rates, valuation roll, available for viewing

Those who would like to object to any entry on the roll may submit filled-in objection forms to the nearest customer care centre, where objection assistants will assist them.

The City of Ekurhuleni valuer has compiled the fourth General Valuation Roll consisting of property information of all rateable properties within the City for determination of assessment rates.

The General Valuation Roll will be implemented from July 1 and be valid until June 30, 2025. Residents can either view it on the City’s website (www.ekurhuleni.gov.za) or visit the nearest customer care centre to inspect valuation roll books placed in the rates halls.

Those who would like to object to any entry on the roll may submit filled-in objection forms to the nearest customer care centre, where objection assistants will assist them.

The objection forms are available on the City’s website.

In addition, rebates previously granted on properties, for those who qualify must be reapplied for. Properties that are commonly granted rebates are those that are owned by pensioners, disabled people, indigents and properties used for sporting activities, worship, schools, NGOs, cultural organisations.

Forms for rebates application are also available on the website.

Residents are requested to participate in the compilation of the new valuation roll and all necessary process, and anticipate new assessment rates that will be in line with the values to be effected from July 1.
