Convicted son’s appeal case postponed

Convicted Emmanuel Mamogobo remains in jail, appeal case postponed.

Emmanuel Mamogobo’s application for leave to appeal his sentence has been postponed to June 10.

The 31-year-old, who is appealing his two years’ direct imprisonment sentence, appeared in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on May 27 where his case was postponed.

In February, he was found guilty of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm to his mother in January last year and guilty of assault on a police officer while resisting arrest.

He has since appointed a defence lawyer to represent him after he conducted his defence during his previous trial.
